This privacy policy explains how Food Origins (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit jusmssn.com, and the rights you have under UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Food Origins is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy matters at [email protected].
2. The data we collect
We collect personal data in the following situations:
- Contact form: your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up.
- Comments: your name, email address, website (optional), your comment, and your IP address and browser details, which help us to detect spam.
- Server logs: like most websites, our server records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request.
- Advertising measurement: on some pages, and only if you click “Accept all” in our cookie banner, we use the X (formerly Twitter) conversion pixel. See section 5.
When you leave a comment, a hashed version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture.
3. How we use your data and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Data | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your message | Contact form details | Legitimate interests (responding to enquiries) |
| Sending our newsletter | Email address | Consent |
| Publishing and moderating comments | Comment details | Legitimate interests (running a moderated comment section) |

| Measuring advertising | Data collected by the X pixel | Consent |
You can withdraw your consent at any time: unsubscribe from the newsletter by emailing us, or change your cookie choice through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its data on servers located in the United States.
- X Corp., if you have accepted advertising cookies (see section 5).
- Authorities, where we are legally required to do so.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK–US data bridge where the recipient is certified under it.
5. Advertising measurement (X pixel)
Some pages use the X conversion pixel to measure whether our advertising campaigns on X are effective. The pixel only loads if you click “Accept all” in our cookie banner. When it runs, X Corp. may receive information such as your IP address, browser details, the page you visited and identifiers stored in cookies on X’s domains. X’s use of this data is governed by the X privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link.
For details of the cookies we use, please see our cookie policy.
6. How long we keep your data
- Contact form messages: up to 12 months after we have dealt with your enquiry.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Comments: for as long as the comment is published, unless you ask us to remove it.
- Server logs: for a short period, normally up to 14 days.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data;
